Browne Fox: Alpine Skills Course

  • This is an introduction to the alpine environment for those who want 'a little more'. Based at Chancellor Hut above the Fox Glacier, you will attempt a climb of Chancellor Dome (2004 metres), spend one night in historic Chancellor Hut and one night camping on the Fox Neve (weather dependent). 

    Course topics include: techniques for back country travel on snow and glacier ice, rope systems, snow and ice anchors, cooking and camp management, navigation and mountain weather

    • NZ$1595.00 (GST incl.) per person
    • Minimum of 2 people per course
    • Valid from 1 November 2011 to 31 March 2012

     

    Cost includes: NZMGA qualified guide, all technical equipment, helicopter flights in and out, accommodation, all meals and snacks.

    • 3 to 4 upper body layers including a long sleeved shirt and warm long trousers.
    • Sunglasses and sun protection.
    • Toiletries & a change of clothes.
